MALCOLM MILAM

Pastor Malcolm is California born Texas raised. Specifically, San Diego, California to Sherman and Denison Texas (it’s a long story).

He accepted his call on October 25, 2001, where he was under the leadership of Ron Shaw, Pastor of Light Church. During his tenure at Light Church, he was exposed to the true meaning of ministry, which is service, where he played many roles from security; to a sound technician; to the head of advertising and marketing just to name a few. In 2018 he became the Executive Pastor at New Testament Bible Church of Denison where his father the late Pastor Billy W and Sister George Etta Milam were the founders. He was installed as Pastor in November of 2020.

Where were you born?

I was born and raised in Paris, Texas, until moving to Dallas to attend college. I’ve been in Dallas since I graduated.

Education

I am a graduate of Southern Methodist University, where I was blessed to receive a full scholarship to play basketball, and I majored in Business and Economics. I also attended Grayson Community College for one year. I’ve been an educator for 20 years at Lakeview Centennial High School. At Lakeview, I teach Personal Finance in the Business Magnet, sponsor the National Honor Society, I’m the Department Chair for the Business Magnet, and I’m one of the Directors for Black History Month. I absolutely love what I do! I have a passion to teach people how to manage and be good stewards over their money. Teaching is definitely a ministry for me!
